Resources for Better, Safer, & Smarter Travel
As an inspired adventurer, it's my duty to help YOU find inspiration for adventure. How do I do that? By writing blog posts, sharing photos, and being honest about the resources that worked (and not worked) for me along my way. Below are the travel resources that I personally use to make travel comfortably and affordable.

Travel Tip 1: Get a Good Deal
No matter if you're on the Web or their app, Hotwire, is a convenient place to book lodging, car rental, airfare, and vacation packages. I've used Hotwire numerous times, and each time I've been blown away by the savings.
Just recently, I saved over $100 on a rental car just by booking through Hotwire! The website is easy-to-use and the app is even better. I've even used Hotwire to save on a last minute booking when plans suddenly changed while on the road. Hotwire's always got you covered.

Travel Tip 2: Get Good Gear
This might be the most fun thing about being a travel blogger! I love sharing travel tips with you guys, including info about the best travel gear. Though I may not travel full-time, I've been around a few travel blocks so-to-speak, meaning I've learned what works and what doesn't. You can find the complete collection of travel gear recommendations in my Amazon store, but I've selected a few of my favorite pieces of travel gear that I highly recommend!
Travel Tip 3: Get a Guide
When I book a trip the next thing I do is purchase a Lonely Planet guide. I rely heavily on these guides to help structure my trip itinerary and find unique, worthwhile things to see, do and eat. The pocket guides are my favorite because they're easy to pack and convenient when on-the-go in busy city streets. What I love most about Lonely Planet is the focus on culture and history. I've had some amazing travel experiences thanks to Lonely Planet, some that I'd never have if relying solely on Trip Advisor, Yelp or blogs. Don't believe me? Get your first guide today.
Travel Tip 4: Protect Your Memories
One of the best ways to save your memorable travel moments is by journaling. I've taken to keeping a travel journal as a way to collect my travel memories and keep notes on future blog posts. I also use my journal for travel planning, that way I'll have my notes with me when I'm traveling and later when I'm writing. Here are a few of my favorite travel journals.
Travel Tip 5: Protect Your Feet
Comfortable shoes are essential while traveling, especially if you are planning to be active. I usually opt for shoes that can double as activewear and stylish comfort shoes. Trust brands like Clarks, Baretraps, Born, and Naturalizer to keep your feet blister free while on the road. Check out a few of my best picks below!
Travel Tip 6: Protect Your Skin
I'm not sure about you, but my skin is really important to me. Protecting my skin has become even more important as I've started to age. So much so that I wrote a whole blog post about the best skincare products for your 30s! For your convenience, I've listed a few great travel-friendly beauty products and UPF clothing/hats right, all of which I use regularly while traveling and at home.
Travel Tip 7: Protect Your Possessions
Every traveler deserves to know their most-prized possessions are safe while traveling. Having your personal belongings stolen while traveling sounds like a travel nightmare! I've heard the horror stories, but, thankfully, I've never been the victim of pick-pocketing, slashing or robbery.
Still, my personal safety and the safety of my belongings is a high priority. That's why I choose to carry and use PacSafe products. Pacsafe offers a complete line of luggage including carry-on and purses that are slash- and puncture-proof. Their patented technology protects your gear, your electronics and now even your identity!
To be safe, I use the PacSafe Carrysafe camera strap while traveling. I personally love knowing that my camera is always safe from slashers no matter where I am. The strap is not only functional, it's also super comfy! It helps protect my neck from the strain of carrying my heavy camera all day.

Websites that Inspire Me to Travel
Travel has so many benefits. It broadens your horizons and helps you learn to be more aware of the world around you. Travel can teach you about other cultures and to be more culturally sensitive. In addition, travel gives you the opportunity to create memories that will last you a lifetime. And if you're still not convinced that you should travel more, let me share a few of the websites that inspire me to plan my next trip.
Well-Being Secrets recently shared a wonderful article about the many science-backed health benefits of traveling that I encourage everyone to read. I know from personal experience that travel can decrease stress, which is one of the primary reasons I like to explore. But I was surprised to learn there are so many scientific reasons to travel! I bet you can find at least one on their list that motivates you to book your next vacation.
Roads & Kingdoms has quickly become my new favorite place to find off-the-beaten-path travel inspiration. One of the likely reasons is that the site is curated by my favorite traveler, Anthony Bourdain. I love the mix of history, culture, and politics that goes into each and every piece. If you're in search of a place no one has discovered yet, this is where to find it.
