If you're anything like me, you've been in the professional sphere for nearly a decade (or longer). You know how to dress for work, but when it comes to casual looks, you're feeling a little lost. I know what I like when it comes to classic wardrobe pieces, but now and then I want to look trendy, too. But keeping up with trends isn't my priority when it's time to shop. I'm typically buying work wear, avoiding more casual looks for fear that I'll look old-fashioned. That's why I turned to Stitch Fix to keep my wardrobe fresh and contemporary. It's perfect for those who want a trendy look for the occasional weekend outing or date night. You'll see in my Stitch Fix review below why I'm recommending the styling service to anyone needing an update without any guesswork!

What is Stitch Fix Anyway?
Stitch Fix is one of several styling services available on the market today. Unlike other services, you get to keep the clothes you want and return those you don't wish to keep at no cost. Rather than rent and return, the clothes are yours to keep. You get to select the frequency of your shipments, also called a "Fix," and you get to say how much you're willing to spend on the different items you receive.
After you complete a fun style quiz, a personal stylist will carefully curate items for your Fix, including styles you have "liked" and styles you might be willing to try. You tell your stylist how bold you're willing to be.
What Comes in a Fix?
Each Fix is slightly different, so it's hard to say exactly what will in yours. Most contain a complementary top & bottom, along with fun accessories to match. My first Fix included a pair of jeans, a lightweight sweater, a fun patterned vest, a gorgeous scarf, and a cool pair of sneakers.
Although your stylist gets to choose the items that will be in your Fix, you do have some say. Right before my first Fix shipped, I received an email asking for any special requests. Being in need of some jean therapy (and a break from my standard Gap jeans), I requested a new pair of denim. I couldn't have been more pleased with my Fix, especially the jeans.
Are the brands recognizable?
Stitch Fix does work with major brands, but some of the designs (and brands) are exclusive to Stitch Fix. I had never heard of any of the brands in my first Fix, but that's exactly what I wanted. If you're anything like me, you've fallen into a style slump. I wear the same brands, styles, and colors over and over again. There've been many times I've brought home a new sweater only to find that I already own one exactly like it. I wanted some new brands and designs to spice up my closet, and Stitch Fix definitely delivered.
How much does StitchFix cost?
When setting up your account, you'll be asked to identify a price range for the type of article you might receive. This gives you complete control over the price range you're willing to pay. For example, I set a price range of less than $50 for a top but gave a higher price range for shoes (I love good shoes).
For each Fix you'll be charged a $20 styling fee, but you get to put that $20 toward any purchase you make. Don't like any of the items in your Fix? No worries! Pack them all in the included shipping bag and send them back, no extra postage required. You'll only be out of the $20 styling fee, a small price to pay for a personal stylist if you ask me! If you do like your Fix and want to keep all five items, you'll get a 25% discount on the whole shipment. BONUS!
How often will I receive a Fix?
That's entirely up to you and your budget. When creating your account, you'll be asked to identify how often you wish to receive a fix. I selected every other month, just because I know my budget won't allow for monthly clothing costs. What's cool is that you can always change the frequency of your shipments depending on your needs.

Is Stitch Fix only for women?
Nope. They've got great options for men, too. There are many major brands are available for men. And styles range from comfy casual to Dapper Dan. So, if your guy is in need of a wardrobe update, Stitch Fix is a perfect gift!
What if I have special style needs?
No problem. You'll give all your measurements during your style assessment, so your stylist won't have to guess about fit or size. Stitch Fix sizes range from Men’s XS-XL (waist sizes 28-42 and inseams 30-34) and Women’s XS-L, 14W-24W, and 1X-3X.
And if you'd prefer machine washable rather than dry clean only, they've got you covered. Prefer Made in the USA brands, not a problem either. Just let your Stitch Fix stylist know when completing your style assessment! Most of my first Fix was American made!
Who is Stitch Fix right for?
Well, just about anyone needing to update their look or shake up their style. Ideally, Stitch Fix is great for busy folks who don't have the time or inclination to shop. Carefully curated style boxes are shipped right to their door, taking the guesswork out of the equation. Plus, they'll save time avoiding shopping malls or searching for online styles that suit their tastes and budget.
How do I sign up?
It's so simple. Just head to the Stitch Fix website, select your sex, and take your style quiz! It really is that simple. And if you use my referral link your first styling fee is on me (a $20 value)!
Can I give Stitch Fix as a gift?
Why certainly! Simply head to their website and purchase a Stitch Fix gift card that's right for you. Choose from print at home, snail mail, or email options.
