If you follow me on Instagram then you likely already know about the #IGTravelChallenge. Back in March 2016 I partnered with two other travel bloggers to create this super fun travel-oriented photography challenge. It was a huge success. I'm so honored to have participated and want to thank all who engaged, posted and shared.
For anyone interested in how we did it, here is the original post I used to promote the challenge. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions. I'd love to do this again and hope to in the future. So stay tuned to IG and follow me!
Throughout the month of March you can join me and my fellow travel bloggers (Tricia of The Adventure List and Hannah of Traveller Hannah) on a world-wide adventure. I look forward to reading about and seeing everyone's travel memories. Telling tales of travel is one of my favorite things to do after all.

If you've never done an IG photo challenge, let me quickly break it down. Each day you post a themed photo to your Instagram account. The challenge lies in selecting or taking a photo that you associate with the theme. I personally love the themes we selected and can't wait to share my own pics with everyone.
My first submission (Favorite Destination) of the #IGTravelChallenge was Paris, of course. My first trip there in 2009 sealed the deal. My time in Paris was truly amazing, and I learned a lot about myself while there. It's when I finally realized what was truly missing in my life: travel, adventure and exploration.
Day 1 of #igtravelchallenge means we are posting #photos of our #favorite #destination As cliche as it maybe, I will always select #Paris as my personal favorite place to #travel. It's where I was first bitten by the #travelbug. It's the place I dreamed of going throughout my childhood and beyond. I'll always remember the feeling when I first stepped onto these #citystreets. Since that trip I've been growing and changing as a traveler and as a photographer. I snapped this, and all my other pics that trip, with a point and shoot. I didn't even own a DSLR yet. Now I go nowhere (expect work) without one. I am excited about some new shots I'm editing and can't wait to share those. You are welcome to follow along my photography journey. I suggest starting here and then heading over here for my recs on lenses, cameras, books and more!
You can easily follow the challenge on Instagram just by searching for the hashtag #IGTravelChallenge. Within the first 24 hours there were nearly 100 posts!
Come see what all the fuss is about and join in the fun! My fellow travelers and I will be sharing our favorite submissions throughout the month on our social media accounts, so be sure to follow along. You can find each of us on Instagram:
