As I age, I find myself wearing less and less makeup. In fact, natural-looking makeup has become kind of an obsession. I'm constantly on the lookout for new colors and brands to try. Simple makeup looks don't have to be boring. With the right natural look makeup products, you can achieve an effortless glow. These are some of the products I'm using to create a natural makeup look that matches the laid-back California lifestyle I love so much.

I was recently approached by a vendor while hanging out at my local Sephora who asked if I was in the market for an illuminating skin perfector to enhance my natural look. Unsure what she was even talking about, I replied in the affirmative. After a quick demonstration, she handed me a small sample of Lancer Dani Skin Perfector to take home. The next day, after only one application, I was hooked. This stuff is magic! It brightens and highlights your skin, giving you a soft glow that looks beautifully natural. The price tag is high, but you use SO LITTLE of the cream with each application that this bottle will last months!
There are days when every girl needs a little magic to help hide imperfections and dark circles. Because I'm trying to achieve a no-makeup look, I find myself using less and less concealer now. When I extra coverage, I trust BareMinerals Concealer. The light powder formula provides powerful coverage that blends perfectly under foundation.
I'm a huge fan of loose powder as part of any natural look beauty regimen, but I recently decided it was time to carry a compact again. So, I approached a friendly Sephora staff member in search of help. She encouraged me to try the new Fenty Invisimatte Blotting Powder. I was intrigued by the promise of completely sheer coverage with a lasting matte finish. The white color turned me off, but she promised it wouldn't lighten my skin. Well, she was right! I'm totally hooked and telling everyone this is one of the best natural look makeup products I've ever used.
A natural makeup look doesn't mean you can't play with color. In fact, there are tons of natural eyeshadow colors to choose from to add a pop of color to your skin. I've become a huge fan of eyeshadow palettes because of the variety of colors and combinations. Here are some of my favorites right now.
When going natural, don't overlook the importance of cheek color. Adding some definition to your cheeks is the best way to avoid looking washed out while going for the natural makeup look. I like blending colors to create a multi-hued tint but having a single color compact is great for color on the go. You can also try a cream blush for a super lush color.
I'm a huge fan of natural lips, but sometimes you need a little color in your life. When I want a pop of lip color, I reach for my Smashbox O-gloss. This high shine gloss matches the natural pink of your lips, highlighting what's already there. There's no other gloss like it.
Going natural doesn't mean giving up mascara. It simply means finding the right type of mascara. Look for a blend that gives you a soft texture while adding definition and length. Here are my two favorite tubes of black gold!
